hands on session introduces you to the world of computers. you will learn
essential computer terminology, basic commands and popular software
packages. Learn the windows operating system which allows you to share
information between computers and multitask. Topics include file
management, opening and closing applications, backing up to a disk, sizing
and arranging. Learn shortcuts by using the keyboard instead of the mouse.
Must complete Introduction to personal computers I or previous experience.

web. learn more about search engines, sending and receiving information,

tools in business and academic environments. This is a session for students
who wish to develop competence in word processing, electronic spreadsheets
and the use of the internet and email for research and communication. This
session prepares you to get the optimum experience from you computer and its
programs.

literacy

a hands on introduction to computers in the modern world. The sessions
include hands on introduction to word processing, spreadsheets, email and
the exploration of the internet along with the computing concepts and
terminology.
- Internet

about hooking up to an internet service provider (ISP) such as Comcast,
Verizon, MSN, Netzero, etc. Learn terminology for the internet and identify
windows elements, use search engines and online email and games. Explore
features of the World Wide Web such as chat rooms, downloading information,
programs and more.
- Windows

This is
an introductory hands-on session to teach you to identify windows elements
within the windows operating system. Some of the topics include switching
between open windows and programs. Using the start menu, creating folders,
using the mouse, keyboard, sizing, moving and arranging windows. How to
open and close applications, create shortcuts, copy and paste, along with
setting up windows to suit your style.

how to get more done using Microsoft office applications. This session
will introduce you to the basics of the applications by teaching you how to
create professional looking documents like letters, faxes, resumes, flyers,
reports and much much more using word. Or create spreadsheet with excel and
do presentations with PowerPoint.
