Take this hands-on introductory session to discover the world of computers.  you will learn the basics and the background of personal computers and computer terminology, the many uses for a computer, using the mouse and keyboard, essential commands and how to navigate the internet and the windows operating system.  No previous knowledge required. 

This hands on session introduces you to the world of computers.  you will learn essential computer terminology, basic commands and popular software packages.  Learn the windows operating system which allows you to share information between computers and multitask.  Topics include file management,  opening and closing applications, backing up to a disk, sizing and arranging.  Learn shortcuts by using the keyboard instead of the mouse.  Must complete Introduction to personal computers I or previous experience. 

You will begin to feel more comfortable and will see the benefits of using the internet for professional and personal use, as you become an expert on the web.  learn more about search engines, sending and receiving information, proper email etiquette, chat rooms and more.  internet service providers will also be discussed to gauge which service is best for your needs.

A study of personal computer applications and the internet information processing tools in business and academic environments.  This is a session for students who wish to develop competence in word processing, electronic spreadsheets and the use of the internet and email for research and communication.  This session prepares you to get the optimum experience from you computer and its programs.

This is a hands on introduction to computers in the modern world.  The sessions include hands on introduction to word processing, spreadsheets, email and the exploration of the internet along with the computing concepts and terminology. 

Learn about hooking up to an internet service provider (ISP) such as Comcast, Verizon, MSN, Netzero, etc.  Learn terminology for the internet and identify windows elements, use search engines and online email and games.  Explore features of the World Wide Web such as chat rooms, downloading information, programs and more.

This is an introductory hands-on session to teach you to identify windows elements within the windows operating system.  Some of the topics include switching between open windows and programs.  Using the start menu, creating folders, using the mouse, keyboard, sizing, moving and arranging windows.  How to open and close applications, create shortcuts, copy and paste, along with setting up windows to suit your style.

Learn how to get more done using Microsoft office applications.  This session will  introduce you to the basics of the applications by teaching you how to create professional looking documents like letters, faxes, resumes, flyers, reports and much much more using word.  Or create spreadsheet with excel and do presentations with PowerPoint.
